Have a question, I have a bottle of PVW 20yr bottled in Lawerenceburg KY rather than Frankfort KY. How long ago to did they change the label? dont know if I should open it or just keep it as a collector piece.

Depends on whether you're into Kentucky bourbon for the taste and experience, or for investment.

You have a rare and irreplaceable example of one of the ultimate icons of Kentucky bourbon.
If the bottle has a greenish cast to it, you have one of the ONLY bottles of the REAL Pappy Van Winkle. All others, including the clear glass version of the Lawrenceburg botllings, are NOT the ones that set the bourbon world on its ear and won all those gold medals.

Now, here's where we separate the true lovers of Kentucky bourbon from those who are basically "collectible investors". If you open that bottle, assuming it's the greenish one, you will be tasting what has been recognized as the finest example ever bottled of Kentucky bourbon whiskey -- mostly by folks who have tasted only secondary attempts to duplicate that particular whiskey. Whatever that's worth to you is your own decision. We have a bottle of that whiskey which we pour for our dearest friends, because that's the way we enjoy bourbon. Of course, we also have a few bottles that are unopened; but those will eventually be opened as needed. That's OUR particular "thing". If we had ONLY one bottle, though, we would have opened it anyway.

Should you choose to maintain it unopened, you need to realize that your heirs would inherit a bottle of Kentucky bourbon whiskey worth well over $1,500.

Your choice.
