Why not much on the Ancient Age family of bourbons?

My buddy says Ancient Age is some of the best bourbon in its price range. I have no idea, but might try a bottle of 10 star 6y/o AA. I know its from the Buffalo Trace distillery and I know they make quality stuff. He says Benchmark is good too, and I like it mixed, but I rarely mix.

I will have a hard time finding a better bourbon than Very Old Barton in the price range, but I'm will to try in my endless pursuit of great bourbon at a fair price.

Birdo, if you can get it try the AAA 10 year old, it is better than the 10 star IMHO. Also, I agree with you on VOB, fantastic bourbon for the price.

Good tip. I'm not on that tight of a budget, and I don't drink that much anyway. I like it just fine and it was only $17 bucks at liquor barn. More tasting is required to render a complete opinion, but so far it taste great for the price, similar to stuff costing more.

I've never seen the 10 year in Ohio. I've had the 10 star. It's not bad.... not great.... so, so I suppose. I wouldn't buy it, but I'd drink it if it was offered.

I agree, the AAA 10 year is a wonderful bourbon. Also, keep an eye out for the discontinued AA BIB, its very good as well. I found a bunch of 200ml ones about a year and a half ago for $3.59 each. IMO you can't go wrong with either one

Love the AAA 10yr. It's hard to find around Atlanta. Was in NW Ohio this summer and picked up a few bottles while I was there. Surprised that they had it!

I didn't know the AA BIB was discontinued? Around here I only see the NAS (4 year old) 80 proof. It's not bad for young 80 proof, and not very expensive. I have purchased the 90 proof version in TN, and the 10 year old in KY. I consider AA to be an ok inexpensive bourbon. The other Age International brands generate a lot more excitement.

I'm surprised they had it too, the ten yr is only supposed to be available in KY.

I've looked for a bottle of the AAA here in Phoenix for six months and haven't found one. Every store you go in has AA, but no AAA.
