Colum Egan (Master Distiller Bushmills) tries to convert me to Irish Whiskey. I had one pour of Bushmills Black Bush. It was okey but I'm still a bourbon man!!!

Thanks for posting those pix, even though they certainly made us envious!

It sounds and looks like it was a very fun time. Can you comment more on the VW Old Fashioned? Tina makes a good Old Fashioned, IMHO, but she is certainly always excited to get ideas for tweaking her recipe.

Dave,
The Van Winkle Old Fashion was very good. Unfortuneatly it was late in the WF program when Preston was providing his secret recipe and I was a bit...well you know. The recipe was quite detailed. Goes something like this...

Place a napkin over your glass and place 1 brown sugar cube on the napkin. Preston then sprinkled the cube with 2 different types of bitters and dumped the cube from the napkin into the glass and muddled it along with a small slice of orange (be careful not to muddle into the white portion of the orange). Add some ice...a couple ounces of Pappy 15....garnish with an orange slice and enjoy...

Preston worked really hard all night...I'm guessing it wasn't his first time behind the bar.

Jon
