Coffee Bourbon Barbecue Sauce

Unread postby brendaj » Fri Jul 20, 2007 10:00 am

My daughter forwarded this recipe from Joe Guzzo. He says it "has a kick in all the right places" and it sounds interesting. I haven't had a chance to try it yet, I'm still moving...

Coffee Bourbon Barbecue Sauce

1 cup strong brewed coffee
1/2 cup bourbon
1/2 cup packed light brown sugar
1/2 cup soy sauce
2 tablespoons cider vinegar
1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce

Directions
Simmer all ingredients in a 2 1/2- to 3-quart heavy saucepan, uncovered,
stirring occasionally, until reduced to about 1 cup, 15 to 20 minutes (sauce
will be thin). Cool to room temperature. Serve with steak or chicken.
As a Kentuckian, I consider it my civic duty to drink Bourbon, smoke and bet the ponies. Its a tuff job, but someone has to do it...
