I know that Gayle makes some damned good bourbon apple butter. How about sharing the recipe Gayle? I can only hope to be able to try some bourbon bread with my choice of bourbon jelly or bourbon apple butter.

My apple butter is as follows:
12 peeled apples ( I use Granny Smith)
2 cups sugar
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
1/8 teaspoon cloves
1 cup bourbon (I use 100 proof Very Old Barton)
Mix all ingredients. Stir and cook about 3 hours on low heat.

Here is a bourbon sauce I use to pour over bread pudding:
1/2 cup butter
1 cup sugar
1 egg
3/4 cup bourbon (Very Old Barton 100)
Melt butter, sugar, egg in a saucepan on low heat. Whisk
until thick. Remove from heat and whisk in bourbon. Chill

Thanks Gayle. The apple butter rocks! I don't think I have had the bread pudding so maybe you can make some for the next Scorpiofest.
