Hurrah!! At last someone else has found the treasures in the '09 Birthday Bourbon! Thanks for a great review BB!! That you found things that I didn't means it has the greatness to be different for different palates!

Hey Mike. It's nice to back among the living! And yes, I just cracked this OFBB 2009 and it rocks. Ethanol at the end similar to the Repeal but how nice to think that two years ago on this night i was enjoying the Repeal and now this... far more sophisticated. I'm loving it and always my hat comes off to Chris Morris.

At the very end I'm getting glove leather and evergreens, some good barn wood and man-oh-man I can't take my nose out of the Glencairn! What a treat...

OFBB 2009 is to be drunk neat and only neat. Don't throw this on ice, don't add water, it kills it. The 2005 can take to ice but not this version.

Bill, most likely you will recover from this attack of bourbon euphoria, but we can hope not!

I know that I too am in the minority when it comes to this Bourbon but I think your review is spot on BB. The 2009 is a truly great bourbon in my opinion and every sip should be savored. Hmmm... I think I may go home tonight and open my last bottle of it!

Second Tasting: A lot more ethanol on the bottom and a lessened spectrum of flavors. The nose stands up to time... I gave it some nitro immediately after so we'll see how this little baby holds out.
