Review of Clyde May's Conecuh Ridge

8-)
Tasted July 19, 2007.
Medium, innocent amber shades fill this easily handled, antique-looking bottle. The nose traveled in like semi melted caramel at the back of your mouth. A slow, sexy aroma, lacking any rush hour or overbearing process. The body, a blues and jazz house around midnight, where only red, tan, orange and maroon light play across the last vocals of an unforgettable woman. Finishing, this gem leaves the pallet painted a mixture of Carravaggio and Georges De La Tour, bringing just enough natural light to a captivating scene and leaving the rest of world a mystery. Brown sugars, caramel, melted marshmallow, vanilla, creme, saturated oak and a cabin fire carry Conecuh Ridge. No other guests but cracked ice and a well-made rocks glass should be invited to make a nights worth of conversation.©2007

Haha "tasted like a book". I've gotta admit though, that while it is expensive I feel, I just love the taste of it when I want something different over ice in the summer when it is warm out. I find it similar to Michters american whiskey but the edge, again IMO, goes to conecuh ridge.

At long last! Someone who is at least as full of it as I am.

amberriverdancer, I can't wait for you to review 2006 G T Stagg at full 140 proof.........should produce some rush hour verbiage for sure. Have at it, new BE buddy.

As for Conecuh Ridge, I have yet to try same, but look forward to doing so to hear the vocals of that unforgettable woman.

I actually enjoy it with dessert - particularly vanilla ice cream. It has a Mrs. Buttersworth flavor that goes well with ice cream. I am not fond of simply sitting aropund drinking it neat with a smoke because it is too sweet for that.
