I was fortunate enough to get a taste of this in Bardstown as part of Tim's Birthday celebration. It was fantastic - easily the finest Old Granddad I have ever tasted and I drank Grandad, exclusively for over 20 years. Thanks Tim.

Tim said "a bit prickly upon entry", and I do agree. I said "prickling (not pickling) spices". I think we are of the same mind here, my friend. I also thought that Old Grand Dad Bottled-In-Bond had a distinctly ragged start. We normally tend to link any raggedness or roughness to the finish. I find this quite interesting even if others do not.
