I just opened my bottle yesterday and had a pretty good pour, more than I usually drink neat. I was expecting to be amazed, but to be honest, it was so so. I felt initially that there was this tangy astringent flavor that knocked my tastes bud awake, but I don't know that the finish was as satisfying as Knob Creek. I also found the finish to be bitter. I was really hoping that this would be the perfect bourbon, but maybe after a little air Old Pappy will come along. I've never tried blending myself, but that's an interesting proposition. I'll have to get the PVW Special Reserve before I can do it myself though. Thanks for your review.
