Wild Turkey Old No. 8

Have an old/rare bottle you'd like some more info on?

I always liked the Old # 8 from Wild Turkey. Not as much as the 8 year old or the 12 year old, but soooo much better than the current 101.

Some people see the glass as half full, some see half empty, but I prefer to drink straight from the bottle.

I have given out about 12 bottles of my first score, so I guess I have about 55 200ml of WT from 1994.

Nice score. I have about the same from 94. 94 was the last of the good WT Old #8. It went down hill from there. The 92-93 were the best for sure... You have a few weeks of good drinking there for sure.

Payday is coming up and I think I can pick up a case with my "discretionary" income. Most of it goes str8 to the wife! I just need to keep it on the downlow...

DUMP BUCKET i read your review on 1991 on WT and I to had got a 'leather wraps the bakery' type thing on a vintage dickel 12. but when i tried x2 2006 bottles it had no leathery dough and had odd corn taste too. very upset. the only thing the same was the empty glass smell. I too called that Dickel 'JUICE' from heaven!

did your 1991 empty glass resemble the smell of later wild turkeys and current.

it maybe there blending some too young s that are blended now? would buying an older wild turkey help?

have your tried rare bread? Jason Pile review mentions a leathery grip on sour dough bread but also the bitter in finish.
