Hi I am looking for a rough history and price guide to a stash I found.

There were several bottles of Bourbon and Scotch Whisky in this horde. Upon researching a little on the Scotch I found it to be somewhat of a gold mine or enough to think twice about opening the bottle. The other two bottles that peaked my interest are a Walsh White Label and a Paul Jones. The White label was made in 1936 and bottled in 1942 according to the tax stamp. The Paul Jones I would think is about the same period. The Laphroaig 10 year is 1964+ as it is the same bottle pictured at Laprhoaigcollector.com, minus the federal embossed warning. I am also interested in the Bell's Royal Vat 12 year as this seems to be possibly pre 1950's but have not found anything online.

I have more pictures available the seals have disintegrated on the Walsh and Jones bottles but are fully intact on the Laphroaig.

Thanks for looking
Jim

Hi. I have an unopened bottle of Old Forester bourbon, made in 1973, bottled in 1978, according to the tax stamp. Is it worth anything? Thanks.

Hello and thank you in advance for any help. I was def curious about these two bottles I have and their value. They are 2- one pint Finch's red satin 13 year and are still very sealed and untouched as far as packaging and no other defects including the paint other than minor typical wear. I'm of course def willing to drink it and go forward w the bottles and tins only if need be. Only one has the satin label still on it and the opening keys and opening instructions are still attached to the top. Any ideas on the value and maybe how rare? What actual distillery they were made or bottled at? What year? Thanks a million!

Here's pics of the bottles in my photobucket

I recently became the proud owner of a Bi Centennial decanter of Old Grand dad. It is unopened and in its original box which is also in nice shape. Any collectors out there? Valued as a collector or as a drinker. I am a Scot and like single malts. Will this suit my delicate palette?

Hey guys, New to the site. About a year a go I came across a bottle of Pappy Van Winkle 23 at a store in New Jersey. Price was $315 after tax. After purchasing it, I got to talking to the owner of the store and it seemed he didn't know too much about the product. He said he was cleaning out the stock room and found an old box that had been forgotten about. He had just looked up the current price it was selling for and labeled it as such. Once I got the bottle safely home I started to research it, and found out it is the 1998 green tinted glass, gold wax sealed, first release of the Pappy Van Winkle Family Reserve 23 year old. I plan on hanging on to this, but was just wondering if anyone had any insight into about how much this would be worth on the current market. The only listing i have been able to find, which is not listed anymore, was from financial district wine and liquors and was selling for $19,000

This is the link for the listing which is expired:

Maker's Mark 101 Limited, Jack Daniels Boss Edens

Unread postby AesopJones » Wed Jan 07, 2015 2:29 am

Hello all, long-time lurker here. I came into a couple "dusties" and have some questions about value and other information.

One bottle is a Maker's Mark Limited Edition 101 proof with gold wax, date on the bottom of the bottle indicates that it is from 1978.

The other is Jack Daniels from 1979, a "Boss Edens" bottle. This one is missing the plastic seal however.

I couldn't turn up much about the Maker's aside from the fact that these limited edition bottles were discontinued in the '90's. Is this correct?

A little research on the Jack tells me that the "Boss Edens" bottlings were made for a short period when Mr. Edens owned the company, or something like that? Info was a little sparse on this one too.

Value and other relevant info are much appreciated.

Here are pictures of the bottles: https://imgur.com/a/bsFZA#0

Way back in the day, Maker's Mark also had 95 proof and 101 proof offerings, besides their regular 90 proof. IIRC, the 95 proof (black wax?) was mostly an export item. I believe the limited edition 101 proof bottling was only limited by the fact that they didn't bottle it every day.

So, for all intensive purposes, the Maker's Mark 101 proof bottle you have isn't quite what you would call a limited edition, although it says that on the label.

FWIW, I was on vacation in Kentucky back in 1992. That was the first time I visited the Maker's Mark distillery. I've been there many times since. The day I was there back in 1992, they were bottling the 101 proof. They gave those of us on the tour some labels from the bottling line. Below is a pic of one of the labels I have.

I have an unopened 1.75ml bottle of Ezra Brooks "The Seelbach decanter" with the original box. I can not find anything online at all. I am wondering what the worth would be or should we drink it!! It also has a bottle stamp on top that's says "bureau of ATF distilled spirits" any information would help.
