Does anyone know when they changed the label for Bakers and does it taste the same as the new bottle? I was checking out a store I've never been in and saw the old label but passed it up for a ewsb 96' (I think its my 1st dusty)

I think it was 5-7 yrs ago. They are around. I have one in my bunker, but I am waiting for a Baker's fan to come over to crack it...

And welcome to the site....

Thanks for the info, I guess I will pick it up soon and put it in my bunker. My experince is still very limited cuz of my age and my selection down here in south florida. But with all of these forums my knowledge is growing for this fine drink and thanks for the welcome

Dam, 1 of my local stores had like 5 left on the shelf and for $35 which is the cheapest around here. I guess I might have to stop by and pick 2, I didn't pick them up before cuz I got a hold of some lot b and pvw 15. I'm gonna open 1 of those up on a rainy day, maybe our next huricane.

So I ended up picking up a bottle but the sale was over it went back up to $40. there was like 7 left so I think I might crack this bottle soon and get another one later. The bottle says batch no. B-85-001 if anyone knows any info like what year it was bottled? 2001?

Thank You My Brother!

I haven't made my way out of Virginia. It's damn cold here. Lots of snow. Sub-Freezing temps. It may take a while. Walking is slow.

I have the B-85-001 yellow label and a B-90-001 black, both open for tasting of course. I'm pretty sure the change is only cosmetic. They taste very similar, especially for whiskies made five years apart. If anything, the black label might be a bit sweeter, but that would be a very SMALL bit. Either way, Baker's is among my favorite-ever bourbons.
BTW, I had a chance to talk with Baker Beam's wife some time ago, and she says he never drinks it. He prefers Beam Black for his everyday pour. I've tried reducing Baker's to 86 proof, and the result tastes better to me than Black, but only a little better. Probably filtering.
