Normandy Rye Whisky

Hi,

I tasted this one at a friend's place some months ago and have tried to find out something about this bottling.

Normandy, Rye Whisky, Made in 1900, Pendennis Club, Jefferson County, Louisville, Kentucky

No age statement, no proof, no further details. He bought it at an auction. I have searched the internet, but no information to be found. Does anybody know something about this bottle except that it surely was a bottling for the Gentleman's Club? Distillery?

The Pendennis Club is a private club in Louisville. In the heyday of Louisville whiskey making, every distillery owner was a member, so the maker of a private label bottling could be anybody. That's what it is, a private label bottling. Probably pretty good, though. The Pendennis has always had high standards.
