Belle of Marion Whiskey, "Made Prior to 1920"

Unread postby Shaun123JP » Sun Jan 18, 2009 5:27 pm

Hi all,
Just returned from my mother in law's home where she showed me a bottle of Whiskey ("Made prior to 1920" - printed on label). It is a 1 pint bottle of 100 proof "Belle of Marion Whiskey" (it seems to have evaporated a bit).
It is sealed on the top (with a paper seal across the top of the cork) and also has a (somewhat) damaged box. The label on the back mentions: WILLIAM TARR COMPANY, Distillers, Distillery No 4. Dist of Ky.
Whiskey, One Pint, 100 Proof, Made Prior To 1920.
For medicinal purposes only. Sale of use for other purposes will cause heavy penalties to be inflicted.
BOTTLED AT
Distillery Bonded Warehouse No. 368, Dist of Ky. Permit No. Ky.P.1

I have a photo of the front of the bottle (attached), back of the bottle and a slightly blurry picture of the box also ("Pure Old Kentucky Whiskey, Bottled in Bond. FOR MEDICINAL USE. Kentucky Distilleries And Warehouse Co - written on it).

I wondered if it would be worth anything? If so it may help my mother in law out a little.

Best regards, to anyone who may answer. Great site!
