I know it's very good whiskey. Had some a couple years back.

Head to the Bourbon Lore section. Look up Brown Foreman or Old Forester. I am sure Mike Veach has done a full report on them.

It seems there is some evaporation. The fluid comes up to the middle of the letters in the word "OLD" in the photo.

Would that be considered a lot of evaporation or not?

Thank you

Alot of evaporation...is when the bottle is empty. I have a completely dry one at the house...I keep it for display. Mine has some black residue in the bottom of the bottle.

Nice bottle, for sale??

It says 'personalized' . In what way is it personalized?
Do you see a specific name through the cut-out.

It is personalized in that on the other side of the bottle there is a special label with the name of my grandfather. When the bottle is turned around, the name shows through the cut-out opening.

I have thought about selling it. I do sell things on ebay occasionally. And I thought about drinking it but then it just seems like a giant waste, akin to, well, taking a four year old to a museum, as I drink bourbon quite infrequently and really would not be able to tell good stuff from not good stuff.

So I found this site and thought I'd find out more about this bottle and bourbon in general. And, I must say, looking through the various forums and reviews, this is quite a great site for the bourbon connoisseur.

Happy New Year!

If I had a bottle with my Grandfathers name on it....you would have to pry that bottle from my cold, dead, hands. Don't ever sell that bottle.

Drinking it, ...well, I'm alright with that.

I second that... and as a O.F. enthusiast I'd treasure it. BB

I have one of these. It says personalized on it and has a serial number printed below it in red. It looks exactly like the one pictured though. There is no box though and no label printed on the back. Its unopened and in tact. It says 100 proof, Made in the spring of 1953 and bottled in the Fall of 1960. I bought it at a garage sale when i was 15 and it's still completely full. I do not wish to drink it, I don't believe I could enjoy it for what it is. However, I want to to sell it and this forum was the only place I found any information relating to it. So I thought I'd ask you all, where does someone go to sell something like this, and where could I find out how much to sell it for also? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
