2 Full & Sealed Pre-prohibition Bottles

Unread postby thoughtcrime » Mon Aug 20, 2007 3:45 pm

I recently acquired 2 bottles of very old bourbon. The first is a bottle of Old Fitzgerald with a seal over the cap bearing a serial number and 2 dates: "Made in 1917" and "Bottled in 1929"

The second in a bottle of Philip & Blum with a seal over the cap with the serial number torn off and 2 dates: "Made in 1917" and "Bottled in 1931"

Both bottles are full exept for a little evaporation that has occurred and have the prohibition stickers on the back. They are both in boxes which have no top cover or flap.

Could anyone shed some light on these bottles and their historic significance?
