walkers deluxe bourbon 1974

Unread postby caffreycat » Tue Feb 19, 2013 7:20 am

hi, clearing out some of my mothers old stuff, i came across a bottle of Walkers Deluxe Bourbon.
the paper seal around the neck still looks intact but the whiskey may have evaporated over the years as it comes to the shoulder of the bottle.
it has a silver band around the neck with distilled by hiram walker and sons inc, peoria, illinois.
it also has a small booklet around the neck on elastic and the book has a picture of a car with the words "that elegant straight - 8" and inside it has a piece about cars and whiskey and a recipe for walkers deluxe classic tom & jerry recipe.
the bottle is square and each side has a number plate
1 - 1915 oklahoma 3046
2 - 1913 colorado 1858
3 - 1912 miss 8325
4 - 1911 arkansas 1911

on the bottom of the bottle it says 65 1 #8

it is in a battered old box with pictures of old cars with dates on 4 sides

1 - 1939 mercury
2 - 1909 ford
3 - 1928 model A
4 - 1929 lincoln

i know nothing about bourbon but it seems a shame to shove it to the back of a cupboard for another 40 years.
can anyone shine any light on this or give me any info on where to get rid of it to someone who might appreciate it?
many thanks. x
