I was given a bottle of Meadwood 100 proof 7 year old straight bourbon whiskey which was made in 1939 and sold in 1947. The bottle and all labels are in excellent shape. Is it safe to drink? Is it worth anything?

What you have is 8 years old, not 73 years old. Bourbon does not age in the bottle, It is likely very good bourbon if it is not cloudy or the fill level is too low. Open it, drink it and let us know how it was.
