I love the Samuel Adams Imperial pilsner ( similar to a super hoppy IPA) and want to add these hops to my garden. Been brewing for 3 years and haven't made an IPA yet.

I wanted to get it but I saw it in PA and there you have to buy a whole case of anything... I think it was over $50 so I said screw it, I'll wait to pick up a 4 pack here when I see it.

Someone I work with said it was way too hoppy for him but Bob has gotten me to like super hopped up beers so this one should be fun. Glad to hear someone out there did enjoy it! 8-)

Jon,

The Sam Adams Pilsner is a great, great pilsner. Best I've had in awhile. But, it is not an IPA. Being a pilsner, it is a lager beer, not an ale. IPA's fall into the ale category.

I edited my above coment and put "similar to" before IPA because an ale is definately not a pilsner. I just wasn't paying attention. However, does anyone know where to get the rhizome in the topic title.

Hop rhizomes are seasonal. Try to preorder in early spring. Hoptech.com shows the pellets and whole as available, I would guess that they will have the rhizomes come spring.
