Highland Park 15 YO

This is my first experience with the 15 YO. I have had both the 12 and the 18 YO's. At $60 it is not cheap, but not overpriced as compared to others of this quality.

Like the other HP Scotchs, this is a class act.

Nose: Light citrus, light sherry, honey, clover, nuts, leather, mild peat and smoke, and a rich warming nose that is sophisticated, complex, balanced, and almost fragile.

Taste: Upfront is a dollop of honied malt that is thick. At mid-palate some mild spices emerge to liven things up.........excellent, excellent......smooth, smooth.

Finish: A wonderful balance between the malty sweetness, the smokey peat, and the mild spice is achieved and maintained for a while.

This is a first rate whiskey, in my opinion. It has it all. When you drink this stuff you feel quite relaxed and mutter to yourself............can I pick a good Scotch or what?
