these 3 are local at about same price . what do you think

walker green. black to thin.
bushmills blackbush. if more refine, cereal, creme to bushmills 10 i'd be interested.
highland park 12 is this just plain soft malt. i find that boring.

note
good arrival.
refinement. not into very nutty malts. too challenging for me.
barly sugered, refine, prune, creme, honey. just not plain soft,

do not like sharp citrus
do not like alcohol harsh reek

For myself, I prefer JW Black over the green...... I like the nice malt sweetness. I like Bushmills too, and just bought a bottle of the 16 YO a couple of days ago. It is aged in used bourbon barrels and finished in used sherry casks..... makes for a very nice soft malt whiskey. I also like the Jameson Irish whiskies. I do enjoy Highland Park Scotch and always keep some of the 15 YO around. For now, at least, my favorite Scotchs are the cask strength ones from Macallen, Aberlour, and Ardbeg. They are very rich and robust (and need a bit of water to tame the proof) and are usually reasonably priced.

Of the three you mentioned, I would tend to favor the Highland Park for its balance and smoothness...... I think the Black Bush is just a touch harsh (although I haven't had any in a long time) for an Irish Whiskey, as the Green Label is for a blended Scotch.

Only my opinions, suit you own palate.

For Irish I'd go with either Michael Collins 10 yr single malt or Red Breast.

JW is totally different. Black is a blend of malt and grain; the smoky finish coming from Lagavulin. Green is a blend of just single malts.
Why not try a Balvenie Double Wood or Glenmorangie La Santa. 10yrs in Bourbon barrels and 2 in Sherry casks.

Ballintine 17. you think modern or wait and bid an old 50s-60's b17?
I think they use less caramal back then. and cask were not reused as much.
