Slane Castle Irish Whiskey

I very much enjoy Irish Whiskey. I like malt whiskey, but in general find Scotch less to my liking than Irish whiskey. Slane Castle Irish Whiskey is among the less expensive Irish Whiskies and is quite decent........... until you do a side by side with Midleton Irish Whiskey. Well, it does remain decent, and Midleton costs more than 4 times as much, so draw you own conclusions. For myself, I am of a certain age and of a certain frame of mind, that I would probably take a part time job (were it necessary) to buy the odd bottle of Midleton. Were you to mock me over this excess, I would have no good reply. Midleton is just that good to me.

I haven't had many Irish Whiskeys, but of the half dozen or so I've had, Middleton was head and shoulders above the rest. I certainly wish it were cheaper, but I share your mindset of spending whatever it costs for an exceptional experience!
