Mida's Compendium of Information for the Liquor Interest, Mida, William. Chicago: Criterion Publishing Company, 1899. Preface, Contents, Tables, pp. 382.

William Mida was the publisher of the nineteenth century trade magazine "Mida's Criteria". He was also responsible for the publication of books of interest to the liquor trade. This is one of his publications. It is a time capsule for the liquor trade allowing the reader to understand the issues that concerned the liquor merchant and distiller at the end of the nineteenth century.

The main concern of the liquor trade of the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries was the government. With growing prohibition movements if the various states, it is only fitting that the first chapter deals with Court Decisions from both Federal and State Courts. Other chapters include Warehouse Receipts and trademarks, Internal Revenue Laws and Regulations and a General question and Answer chapter about doing business in the Liquor Industry.

This is a very valuable source of information for a historian of the liquor trade. The original book can be found at the Oscar Getz Museum of Whiskey History.
