Gary,
I really don't know their reasoning for the bubbles. I suspect that they wanted it to lock more like a cocktail than straight whiskey.

You can now pre-order the book on Amazon. I have had three people tell me that they have done so and it is rather inexpensive.

I just ordered it, and yes, it's inexpensive.....$16.14. They're saying March 11 - 13 for delivery

Thanks, Joe. I really appreciate it. Iwas told by the Press that there Have already been 350 copies sold! Thanks to all others who have or will pre-order a copy. A few more copies and I can replace my PC at home that died last week!

Update: The University Press told me they were expecting the book at their warehouse on February 14. They have over a thousand pre-orders. Thanks for the support!

Then book is now available and shoulod be in bookstores near you. I actually signed copies at the Woodford Bourbon Academy on Saturday.

I read the book last weekend and it's outstanding. IMO, any bourbon enthusiast owes it to themselves to read it and learn how much of an impact whiskey has had in our country's history.

I enjoyed reading the book and my comments are below:

The book provides an interesting chronological history of bourbon from early distillation of whiskey that evolved into bourbon and the impressive industry that resulted. We are taken through all of the critical periods in US history up to the present day. Mike provides interesting information and commentary about the impact of whiskey and bourbon on wars, taxation, prohibition, and the Great Depression. He discusses how the industry changed during those periods. In addition, the author provides documentation that dispel a few myths concerning bourbon. There is a detailed bibliography which can aid those in search of more details concerning various topics covered in the book.

The book is well organized, clearly written, informative, and concise. It holds the reader's attention as he is taken through significant historical events in US history which were impacted by the bourbon industry. This book will appeal to anyone with an interest in bourbon and our American heritage.
