I believe this bottling (which was given to me by 'my' liquor store) is from the late 80s or early 90s. It is the first time I remember seeing a 100 proof CC. It still retains its Canandian 'lightness' and reminds me a bit of Irish whisky, in fact if I didn't know better, I would think it is a malt whisky.......until the rye takes a bite toward the back of the mouth.
I venture to say that the 100 proof improves this whiskey quite a lot. The soft sweetness is very nice, with some apple notes that give it a delicate crispness that makes for an excellent sip.
