Fisticuffs on Rocky Top - Jack and George give their best

Unread postby Mike » Tue Jul 17, 2007 7:30 pm

The challengers both hale from Tennessee. In the right corner is Jack Daniel's Single Barrel, weighing in at 94 proof. In the left corner is George Dickel Barrel Select weighing in at 86 proof.

Jack has a far greater reach and is much better known, while George has his own following amongst Tennesse whiskey lovers.

Knowledgeable fans of Jack recognize his aroma immediately, and look upon it with wonder...........others find it slightly off key and reeking of charcoal.

Fans of George find the aromas there to be less aggressive and more subtle...........others find it to be a weak.

The fight commences and Jack goes on the offensive, he has expensvie and experienced trainers who continually divert the crowd with posters that proclaim his superiority.

George's trainers rely on swaying not the crowd, but the judges. George fights a more sublte fight, bobbing and weaving, not trying to land the decisive punch, but to win on points.

Jack is supremely confident and waits impatiently for the right opening to put George away, but it never seems to come..........and the judges take note.

The fight has now gone the full 15 rounds. Jack is exhausted but still on his feet. George has stayed with his game plan and has landed more punches during the contest.

The judges make my decision............the winner is George Dickel Barrel Select..........because it tastes better!

Sorry, Jack!

P.S. Ringside opinion is that both these guys are severely outclassed against any number of Bourbon or Rye heavyweights.
