Do any of you know from where Willet gets its rye? My BIL gave me a bottle a while back and I have really enjoyed it. I read a blurb on some site a while ago that perhaps Heaven Hill produces a lot of the spirits in WIllet bottlings. Do any of you know for sure?

They could come from anywhere. Longer ago, when he was bottling 22 to 24 y/o ryes for Doug Philips and LeNell, he was using Cream Of Kentucky rye. God knows what he's using today.

I believe it's LDI. It has a very similar taste to Bulleitt

Willett rye is my favorite rye by far.

My bottle says it is distilled in Indiana, and bottled by Willett in Bardstown, KY. I'm new to bourbon, but I figured I'd give the Willett rye a chance, and I'm glad I did. I like the Willett Family Estate Bottled Rye very much.

Of course it's not actually Willett, they didn't make it, but if you like LDI/MGP rye that's good because there's no shortage of the stuff.

Willett has their own distillates in bottles for critics that insist on the proper pedigree for their beverages.

But Willett spends time with their LDI ryes with the barrels aging in ricks in the Willett houses.

Discounting Willett's fingerprints on their ryes and calling them simply LDI ryes is discounting the value of Willett's barrel selection, warehousing, barrel placement, and aging.

The Willett folks have done exceptional jobs in this and their current new rye offerings and the other Willett wheat and traditonal rye/corn distillates in the pipeline bode well for the future.

I personally can't wait until these in-house produced offerings hit the market.

Oh I don't insist on a proper pedigree, just an accurate one.
