what current JD single batch numbers are better

Im thinking of buying one but here there all different. Are there certain numbers i should look for.
so does does it enter with a gripping smoky charcoal quality, and delicate fresh corn and maple.
i read it more oily so it must be very smooth. what about the oak balance.
no 7 a little rough but notice my last one had massive vanilla. the last gentleman i did not like the oak.

If you are referring to the Single Barrel, I have never had an off bottle of that whiskey. I find it nicely soft with a subtlety that is its own. I also like some of their special releases, most of which seem to be 90 proof and are better than the 80 proof stuff, in my opinion.
