Yes, it's maple filtered, but no idea about the yeast. You're talking about a bottle of Dickel Cascade Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whisky, "Mellow as Moonlight", which was produced by several Kentucky distillers (most notably A. Ph. Stitzel in Louisville, and later Schenley [Buffalo Trace] in Frankfort) until the 1950s when Tennessee repealed its state prohibition laws that prevented distilling, enabling the "new" Dickel Cascade distillery to be rebuilt near the site of the original, in 1958.

While production was in Kentucky, they did build charcoal mellowing vats and maintained the Lincoln County Process filtering through charred sugar maple. That was essential to maintaining what character of the whiskey that could be kept while it was being produced in another state, far from its home.

When was the 1st no 12 was released? Those old labels on the powerhorns and ceramic say neither No 12 or No 8.

I wonder if I 1976 ceramic Dickel is no 12? Is it true the secret to No 12 is very old reserved dickel stock is blended into that one?

Do you know if 90s Dickel No 8 has a dough like body to it or is it thin and very toasty like barrel select 2006.
I had a pre Diageo No 12 and loved it but the early Diageo No 12 (flat) and barrel select 2006 (silk, wood acid) i did not like.

I Tasted Kentucky Casade.

maple mellowed, melts like butter. Seems like Kentucky flavor and floral.

i am not detecting that Dickel priority Yeast but certainy the same maple process.

Maybe it's just Buffalo Trace stock passed though a duplicate Dickel Maple Charcoal Filter.
