Purchased at:little store in Georgia
Purchased for:$9
Info on this bottle:dusty '81 bottle
Nose:Some light alcohol at first then wet rye and brown sugar play over a low oak note.
Taste:less sweet than the nose promises with some spice at the mid palate fading quickly to a corn sweetness that isn't particularly deep or complex.
Finish:a satisfying long lasting warm finish that moves from corn sweet to a subtle sweet anise - no alcohol burn to speak of just a pleasant sweet warmth
Overall:I was underwhelmed with the first pour but at every subsequent pour it showed me something new and entertaining. A balanced easy drinking kind of Bourbon. It really doesn't do anything wrong and it's finish seems to always invite another sip.

Info on this bottle:This is the Old Charter 10yr from 1992
Nose:Leather and old wet oak. Some dry vanilla, little light machined aluminum to it. Some apricot, and candy apple
Taste:Crab apples, vanilla, age??? bottle has been around a while???. Some oak and leather
Finish:Vanilla and cream. ??? the finish is better as time goes on??? little light burn??? (86 proof and all)
Overall:Good bourbon, not great. For $15 a bottle, nothing to scoff at. You can tell it spent some time in aluminum tanks. Not too much, but more than you would want all the time

Purchased at:Midtown Liquors, Nashville Tennessee
Purchased for:22.00
Info on this bottle:Old Charter Louisville 10 Year Old Decanter from the 80's
Nose:Somewhat alcoholic initially. Needs time. Hints of rye spice. Alcohol subsides in subsequent pours.
Taste:Alcohol subsides. Not overpowering. Nice somewhat spicy component. Nice mouth feel. Not overly complex but balanced.
Finish:Medium length finish. Subtle sweetness on the finish.
Overall:Good bourbon --- not top shelf --- but very nice.

Review from bourbonv (BourbonEnthusiast Review ID 71)
Purchased at:Acquired as one of several from United Distillers employee benefit
Info on this bottle:Standard U.S. Market version
Proof Of this Bottle:86
Nose:Sweet caramel corn candy with medium oak. Slightly floral - roses maybe.
Taste:Cool with no alcohol burn. Very sweet vanilla and corn with oak heading into the finish. What is suprising is the lack of rye spiciness.
Finish:Sweet corn with oak and leather. It is long lasting and pleasant
Overall:A good bourbon for any occasion. Aged in brick warehouses, this bourbon does not have the barrel characteristics of a ten year old bourbon from other distilleries. This makes for a pleasant mixture of grain flavor (corn) and oak.
