Medium Gold in color, this shows a complex, well-balanced nose that shows both dry, peppery notes and a rich honey-vanilla sweetness. The body is medium, leaning toward full, and the palate follows the nose being at once dry and sophisticated with some tingly spicy notes, and also showing a sweet side full of toffee, vanilla and a rich oakiness. The finish is very long and very satisfying.

This is a well-crafted Bourbon with a balance that's hard to beat. Sip it neat, on the rocks, or in a Manhattan cocktail.

Nose:[Olfactory impressions]light leather, citrus
Taste:[Description of the initial taste impression]citrus, specifically lemon
Finish:[Description of the lingering taste impression]just right, not too long or short.
Overall:[Overall impression of this bottling]It took awhile but I have finally found MY whiskey. Though I can see how some aren't as satisfied because it is a little thin. What it lacks is made up for in mouth feel and flavor (though not overpowering flavor). Took it to a party, everyone very impressed. You could see it in peoples faces after they drink it and the eyebrows go up and the smiles come on. Excellent, soft mouth, simple lemon not overly complex, not overly deep flavor. A very friendly whiskey. Excellent at room temperature straight.

Purchased at:Liquor depot on Dixie Highway
Purchased for:9.95
Info on this bottle:Standard bottle from liquor depot
Nose:Tasted in a glencairn glass. Color is a light amber. Vanilla and floral tones - honeysuckle and violets, with a hint of corn silk and leather.
Taste:A little thin on the mouth with no alcohol burn. Very sweet with caramel and apples with some oak wood.
Finish:Not complex but sweet with caramel apple and dry with a hint of oak tannins. Not a bad finish.
Overall:I think this is a good cocktail bourbon that can be drank neat, but probably should not be. It would be a bit more complex and a better product neat at 86 or 90 proof.

Finish:The finish is medium in length and fades from sweet to bitter.
Overall:It was fun to try this label and compare it to the 10, 12, and 13yo expressions. It is an OK bourbon, much better than JB White, but nothing remarkable. Pay a few extra dollars and get the 10 or 12yo.
